The subs at the back are blue and black, and the amps are silver and gold. I have a pic of the amps but its too big for AF. So soon ill get another one for you guys. Im leaving the rollcage out cos im going for a bit more show than street.

http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/60017DSCN0341.jpg
The engine was sprayed matt black and drubrushed silver. The top was already chrome, so i left it and painted the centre blue. The whole engine was silver and blue, then i found some purple paint and was a little HKS inspired. So the theme shifted from blue and black to blue, black and purple.
Heres my dilemma. Should i paint the chrome bit on the engine blue, and the centre silver? Or leave it as is??

Im currently cutting out the vents on the bonnet since there molded in. When thats done ill spray the body. Hopefully i got some TRD decals lying around for it.
Thx for looking.

Engine looks great and the dullness make it looks like its been used before. The engine cover thing looks great as is. What color is the body gonna be?

I wanted the engine to look used, cos after looking at countless engine pics, i realised that not many are clean and street driven. I want this to be like a clean street car that is used everyday.

supermod: I see what you mean. That pipe, even in a street driven car would be nice and shiny. Ill prolly do that next.

Tommy: Its gonna be black since i cbf going to buy paint and i still got most of a can of gloss black lying around.

is this the amt or ashomia kit?

ozstrider

Aoshima. Ordered from HLJ. Exactly the same kit. I was hoping they would change the wheels from the AMT style to something else. Cos i hate them.
The body has been painted. Pics tomorrow when its daytime.

i noticed that on most sites they say the ashomia kit is 1:24 scale, but the amt kit is 1:25 scale. can you tell me if there is a diffence?

p.s. looking real good.

No difference in scale. On the Aoshima box it says 1/25 scale. If you check here. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/plamo/index_e.asp?Bno=&Typ1_c=102 Do a search, go into the Aoshima section, and them do a search, type in supra. Scroll down to you see it. It says 1/25 scale.

Heres some pics of the painted body. Its just plain ol' black. But it looks sxc and imposing i think. No outdoor shots yet.

i think it looks very cool, though i wish ashomia whould have done there own model unsted of repackageing amt's kit. you think they whould have read somewhere how much some people say how wrong amt's kit is

The kit overall is ok. I wish they changed the wheels to there system though. I hate the AMT ones. I havent seen the real AMT kit so i cant compare, but it does ok for itself. It could be waaaaaaaay worse...

loooking nice. i want to see it finsihed. to really set of the black body, add some chrome wheels, paint the lights realistic, add chrome window trim, black and chrome go good, even on an import. I still say the intake piping and the fan blades needs more silver, they are all black and chrome spots.

The headlights are ghey. Forgot to mention that. Instead of lenses, there like little chrome bead things. They were going to be black, with silver lights. I was going to do turning signals for the small square one and the far side ones of the main lights. So im working them out now. The tail lights are in so the bodies almost complete. All that needs doing is the interior.

That body looks really shiny already. A little polish and it will look awesome. Nice engine too! I'm doing the same type of thing with the amt f&f supra. I'm painting it duplicolor metalic gunmetal with a cf hood. Here's an idea. ry cutting out the molded grille openings in the hood and replacing it with mesh. Keep up the great work!

More updates. Prolly the last one before the final product.

http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/60017DSCN0506.jpg
Finished body. Ill clean the windows before its done of course. Covered in finger marks atm. Lenses and clear bits fit ok suprisingly. I think Aoshimas is cast better than AMT's cos i only had a few minor part fit problems for the whole thing. But i had lots with the AMT Eclipse.

http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/60017DSCN0510.JPG
Finished dash minus wheel, which is also done, and tacho, which isnt done. Just drybrushed silver with stuff like stereo and buttons picked out in blue and gold.

http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/60017DSCN0504.jpg
Pretty much finished engine shot. Just a few little bits to add on.

Im currently cutting out the molded grills on the hood then it will be sprayed black.
Thx for looking guys.
