ok i just finnaly got my elcamino paint to look how i wanted. long story short, i painted it silver over grey primer turned it chrome, so a bunch of wet sanding and i added black to the silver, and it still wasnt what i wanted, so i wet sanded that, and added even more black, and today gave it a shot of it, and i got the burnt metalic grey.

now i plan to clear coat, should i wax it then clear, or would the wax on it leave it so the clear wont work?

or

wash the body with soap, air dry, clear coat, then wax?

Clear first, then polish and wax. Waxing first could stop the clear bonding.

A lot of people use rubbing compound to rub out the orange peel, then they wax, no need for clear coat after that. Pman doesnt even use clear coat, and he is one of many others that dont use Clear coat.

If the paint is metallic then clear before polishing.

it is a custom color i made. long process of mixxing, but yea it does have a metalic look. it is almost a burnt metalic grey. color took alot of time to perfect.

It has silver in it. I'd clear like Ray said, then polish and wax.
