Hey, all! Ive looked at some sites for lambo door hinges, just wonderin if anyone has any infor on customizing and installing for 98' TA. THanks ;)

its a bunch of work and looks tacky i think.

I Was Going To Get Lambo Doors For My 99 T/a But I Couldnt Find A Kit That Went The Whole Way Up Instead Of Half Way Up And Having To Crawl Into The Seat. As For Installation, Its Not Hard At All, You Have To Remove The Fenders And Change The Hinge In It Now For The New One And Extend The Wires For Everything.no Cutting Drilling Or Welding. If You Find A Good Kit Let Me Know.

I'm with $nyper on this one. I think it would look too tacky. It makes the TA look more of a luxury car than a muscle car. I dunno, it just takes away from what the Firebird name really is. I like to keep Firebirds original. You probably have no idea what i'm talking about but oh well. I would have to say it's a waste of money. But hey, it's your car and your choice what goes on it.

The Lamborghini Isnt A Luxury Car Its A Race Car. Even The Race Version That Lamborghini Makes Has The Vertical Doors. It Doesnt Makeit Look Any More Luxurious Thananything Else With Lambo Doors. A Delorian Has Gulwing Doors But Doenst Look "luxurious". If The Point Of Lambo Doors Was Luxurious Bentley Would Be Doing It And Aston Martin And All The Real "luxurious" Cars Would Be Doing It. So I Gotta Say Pimp On Playa Get The Doors And Ill Be Right Behind You With Mine.

Ive Talked To The Guy I Know That Made The Kit For The 3000gt And 3rd Gen Eclipse And He Is Working On A Mustang Kit Now And Then The Camaro Trans Am Kit. He Said It Will Only Sell For Like 500 But Hed Probabaly Come Off That Price. Go To Importprecision.com

i can get them at such a good deal because i have been talking to this guy for almost a year about making one and he said i would get one of the first made and plus i have like 3 other friends putting them on there eclipse's so were getting a better rate. he would come off thata price by selling them cheaper thats what that means . and the 1600 dollar price is a price from a vendor im getting it strait from the manufacturer. and the kit actually is a good kit you can change the hinge to open normal also.

well luxury car or not....it makes the car stand out ever more. Im in the midwest ..where maybe chicago you'll run into something like this. I just want to do some things to make my TA more exotic lookin. Im really concerned that if i do get a kit that the doors wont full open. Ive seen lots of pics with cars that have the lambo doors and i see what you mean. Some are fully open then some are like half or 3/4 open. Im small person but still like to have the door open as far as they are supposed too. :) anyone find a automatic kits for less than $1999 ?? let me know any in put is much appreciated! :D

they have kits for lots of cars, but unfortunately they don't have one for newer firebirds just yet...but maybe in the future they will add one..(or they might possibly can make you a custom kit)

...it looks ok..but IMO the firebirds and camaros doors are too large to look exactly right...on the smaller cars it looks pretty nice, though...but to each their own...good luck on the kit. and if you ever get it done, let's see the pics!! :)

Personally I think they look great. Its a little harder with the heavier doors but it's well worth it. These are considered "sports cars" these days and these doors sure make it sporty! I'm working on a full out Lambo body kit package for these cars, not a rebody, but bolt-on skirts and such. I'll keep everyone updated as I get further along.

Look, modifying the looks of a car is like plastic surgery. A little bit here and there and it WILL enhance the looks of your car/woman, but once it starts to get noticeable it quickly becomes ugly, and even hideous. All these kids with the civics with the body kits with twenty fog lights and mesh grills are the equivalent of an old 90 year old hag who's had 40 grand worth of plastic surgery done and looks like a fucking joke. Putting Lambo doors on your T/A is like giving Halle Berry a fucking facelift and triple D's, she'll look like a freak. And your car will look like a freak, and you'll be a fucking dumbass.

i never said sixers couldnt put out more power than eights but camaro and firebird sixers cant put more out. i know of a 4 cylinder putting out more power than your sixer. my v8 is putting out more power than a viper. i know supras putting out more power than buggattis. im just knockin american sixers because the power sucks on them. power to weight ratio is terrible. believe me i had one. it sucked then i started learning about the ls1 and lt1 and moved up in the world and now i can say shit about the sixers because ive been there. they suck

All kidding aside, I only wandered in here to mention that the McLaren F1, Saleen S7, and Ferrari Enzo do not have "Lamborghini style doors" as someone claimed in an earlier post. Lamborghini's door style is commonly know as "Scissor", where as the doors of the F1, S7 and Enzo are known as "Dihedral" since they actually are made up of two separate planes of the car's surface and attach at two points creating an arc upwards as well as in towards the center when opened. Dihedral is a geometry term which I welcome you to look up if you are interested.

My advice: Leave the doors alone and spend the money on go-fast bits. :cool: :thumbsup:
