My friend bough an 88 Mustang.. about 300 rw HP... i was behind him and he was getting on the on ramp in the wet.. the ass end kicked out and he over corrected and went head on into the wire guardrail.. ripped off the rear axel... 1st thing he said when he jumped out is.."god dam ford piece of shit" and put his fist through the window... should have got a chevy:)

no.. suprisingly... but it was the drivers window..might have been weakened in the accident though

no.. dude.. he nocked off the rear axel... no its not totalled... but he proelly did more damage to it kicking it and punching it.. then he did in the actual accident

and his being stupid on wet ground, breaking traction, and being unable to correct his mistake is all due to the car being a ford..... 300hp at the rear on a 88 means there must be sone nice work done to it, so he should have known better. a chevy would fair no better.

well that sounds like a case of driver error, not a piece of crap car. you could drive a ferrari on an off ramp in the rain a spin it out, if you are going to fast for the wet road....duh comes to mind...

yeah man, i was pissed at the latest hotrod magazine, bashing online forums for being narrow minded and hatefull, i was trying to argue against it, but threads like this make it so hard. dont get me wrong, i personally hate mustangs, but the fact it was a ford aint why he crashed, probly why the rear end was nocked out though ;) my two camaros have been through alot worse than hitting a guard rail, and i can still drive them just about anywhere, and drove them home from every incident. if your gonna joke the stang, then joke it for coming apart in peices from a mild crash, not cuz your buddy dont know how to drive.

i never heard that they were puttin a ls6 in the c6 z06? where did you find that out? the only thing i've heard is that it is going to have 500 ponies out of a small-block ohv v8, they might be making another form of a LS block for this one (that would be great :iceslolan )

that's a good point, come to think of it, i have seen a stock '02 camaro SS beat a '03 SVT Cobra (which are way overrated). the ss didn't have to go to a special tuner to be fast, just a factory car; says something about camaros i would think

for '04 the SVT is now supercharged so that one would prolly beat an ss, but hey if camaros were still being made i'm sure chevy would have somethin that could rape the supercharged cobra.

well to be fair, the Z28 is the cobra model, GT is kinda their RS if im correct.

No... if you go off of most automitve magazines (including consumer reports) the Z28 is always put up against the GT, and the SS is always put up against the Cobra. As for 2004, your right, the new mustang is supposed to have some balls. The closest thing you could compare it to is the new GTO since it has the LS1 engine, and as far as I know the GTO is faster. Its sad to say that Chevy is using the LS1 for that SSR that really isn't that fast due to its weight... and its ugly. But there is the new Chevelle coming out...

is this new chevelle supposed to be a front wheel drive by any chance? i sure hope not. GM pretty much ruined the malibu. When i worked at a chevy dealership the malibu was always the last car to leave the lot cause no one wanted em. as for the whole mustang-camaro deal, i can personally attest the mustangs dont get shit for traction compared to camaros. between the narrower wheel base and the higher stance they suck. a guy that i do construction with owns a 92 gt i think it is, and he can stomp it goin 30mph and go sideways, and he has 2:73 or something close to that for a rear end. try doin that with a camaro, not gonna happen they get such better traction. i recently installed 3:73's with a locker rear end in my friends camaro, and he's makin a little over 300hp with the 350 we built, and when he hits it off the line it spins for about 8 or 10 feet and goes, and he's runnin 0-60 in around 5 1/2 secs. now wet streets that's a little different, fun but different

Why do you hate fords I don't hate chevy's, as a matter a fact i'm looking to buy a I-ROC or z28 for my wife, to go along with my mustang!
Which I put some work into restoreing,brand new 5.0 40 over, edlebrock
intake and carb 650. Rebuilt 283 heads. And much more. But I hope to do some mods to the chevy.You know if you drove for awhile you would love it!!! No big deal.

I don't know any of the specs on the new Chevelle. I have only see pictures of the concept. It looks pretty nice from the side, but the front looks bad. Its the same type of front as the SSR.
As for you guys who are upset about hating Fords... Its all fun and games. You have to talk trash, thats half the fun.

just personal taste man, i dont hate guys who drive fords, shit my dad drives a 1996 taurus SHO with the V8 that will beat my RS in a race. but i personally dont like driving it because of how its laid out, honestly i dont really like driving the fourth gen camaros either, but i love the camaros, so they get grandfathered in ;) but i have driven the stangs, and never drove one i liked. thats why i dont like them. they just dont feel right to me. i dont like how they are laid out, how they handle, or how they drive in general, just personal preference.

Of course it comes down to preference. We all know that with the right resources and knowlege you can make any car fast. So I guess the only way we can compare cars is what they are stock, but we all can't afford McLarens.

You know I would drive both. I like both,I like cutlass and old firebirds,Roadrunners! Had friends who owned these cars and I had a chance to drive them,back in the mid to late 70's.Iowned the cutlass!
