Here are some details of the build- started with the Revell 1937 Ford truck, as soon as I seen the kit, it was on like neck-bone. Chopped the top, channeled the body and shortened the frame(thats why there is no bed) Looking through my kits and mags, I found the engine in the '50 Ford truck, which is a flathead V-8 with Ardun heads,(Tonioseven, the nailhead is going in my '34 Ford phonebooth rat wrecker) I used 30ga roof flashing for the door panels, floorpan, and inside as a headliner. The driveshaft is scratchbuilt and so are the dice on the dash, cut out the glovebox just to add to it. Painted it B-B-Q Stove black and grey primer. the headlights are from another kit and so are the shocks. So if you ever read about a rat-rod and you will see that there are many parts from other cars on them. These things are built to be light and go fast. Thanks!

Pretty nice for a rat rod. I like the detail and the parts choices.

Though I'd like to see you do some stuff in the vein of the California Kid.

Nice build! Great attention to detail, nice weathering on the roof too!

CADguy said he saw it in person, so are you in the Atlanta area? I would love to see it at one of the ACME/IPMS meetings. If I can get to one soon, I will bring my Project Roadster. The pictures dont do either of our projects justice!

Sounds cool. I'm just a big fan of shinier stuff. The primer stuff is okay now and again, and it's definitely preferable to billet, but a clean bad-ass raked street rod in a classy paint scheme is too cool.

yes I do live in the Atl area, a little town called Rockdale County, famous for the well knwn horse park. Have you been to any of our meetings? We had one today, but we have 6 bikes to build before August! How is your project coming along?

Cool. I havent been to any ACME meetings yet, Im still trying to get some info on joining. I havent been to an IPMS meeting for a few months, it seems like whenever there is a meeting I am busy doing something.

I wanted to go to the one today but Im down here in Florida, so that explains how my project is. As soon as I get back I will be starting the other side. That sounds like fun :banghead:

At night after a long day at the beach I get on AF and online and look for some stuff for the project, so I am doing something for it. I did post a picture of the rims I will probably use, go check it out and tell me what you think of them.

No, there is a Rust-All system with 4 bottles, #1 is the red rust, #2 is the black wash, #3 is a white wash, and #4 is a dust. I think the kit cost $14.00, I got it from the hobby store. Thanks for the replie!
