so do you want to take them out or just disable them? if you just want to take them off it should be easy! red

what do you mean by take them out?... ummm, i want them to be disabled, so that they turn on only when i turn them on if that makes any sense... thanks

DRL's are a 40.00$ option on new trucks. It is simply a wiring thing. Any late model has DRL's if you just leave the lights on all the time. When you turn the key of the lights go off too. But DRL equipped trucks just run the headlights and not all the other marker lights too.

under the hood in the fuse box look for a fuse marked DRL
its a 7.5 pull it. that should take care of it

so, is it the fuse that i should take out, or is it what ahooga said to do? seems a lot easier to just pull a fuse, but it also kinda seems too good to be true... help please.

well, i guess its not the fuse... i took it out, and the lights dont work at all... gotta do what the link says to disable the DRL...

I unpluged and removed the module so I could open it up. I cut the trace going to the wire the above link has you disconnect and added a small toggle switch to the module soldered to each side of the trace I cut. Now I can just reach under the dash and flip a switch to turn off the daytime running lights. This way if I ever want them enabled (selling the car, insurance reasons, etc) I can just flip the switch. I can feel the switch and flip it while sitting in the drivers seat and don't even have to look under the dash and it looks very professional. If anyone wants do this modification send me a message and I can post some photos of what I did. Email me at [email protected].
