The Saga:
On Friday afternoon I drove 1 hour after work to pick up my new (2nd hand) shocks and springs (already on the struts). Then drove another 1.5 hours home. Yesterday, on Saturday I picked up a new scissor type jack, 2 new jack stands and a socket kit.
Today, me and Dad get the rear end jacked up and on stands, unbolt the strut tops and take the wheels off. Despite everything we did, the easiest, most accessable bolt wouldn't come off with my 100kg (200lbs+) Dad bouncing up and down on the end of the spanner.
THEN I discover that the inner 50% of my front tyres are completely bald and could blow out at any time, so I'm up for a new tyre and alignment on Tuesday (forcing me to be up at 6am tomorrow to get a lift to work) AND THEN pay someone ~$200 AUD to put the new shocks and springs on Tuesday afternoon.
Once again, you stupid motherfucking son of a rusty whore bolt sack of shit car.

oh man, that's shit!The cost of the new shocks and springs is almost as expensive than my car (300 AUD)!
i have a shitty 83 ford laser, it's a hunk of crap, but it gets me to the station and back. I was saving up for a holden, and i want the SS commadore ute (they're hot as) i'm so sick of my 4.5 bhp pathetic excuse for a car. Hey, at least i'm man enough to admit it hehe. But it will be some time before i can get the ute (3-5 years max)

I'm usually pretty happy with the car. I got the shocks and springs as a package with four doors for $200. BARGAIN! They've only done 15,000kms and they're Pedders (Monroe GT rebadged). Oh well, such is car ownership.

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
It's $200 australian dollars, which means that it's $12.50 in American dollars. :icon16: I wish my recent Le Car repairs would've been so cheap!!! :banghead: Stupid junkyards.

Its amazing what a little heat can do for a rusty bolt. If you Australians ever had to live with 4 months of road salt, you would know to put a little heat on a bolt and it loosens it up like magic. Even just a little propane plumbers torch will do the trick.

Oz would probably overdo it and weld the bolt to the chassis, eh son? :p
