Well I have a valvecover leak in the back right corner.
So before I change it, I was just wondering should I use OEM gaskets, or will the autozone/pepboys ones do just fine.

I will be changing the spark plug gaskets and the valvecover gasket.

Thanks

i just put regular one(autozone/discountatoparts) and is just fine(+spark plugs gaskets).

I would use an OE one, they are a tad thicker and fit tighter in the valve cover.

How about using silicon sealant with it, I have heard that sometimes it causes leaks, but have also heard its good.

Nevermind the half moon comment, I assumed you had a 4G63.

i just did this about a month ago. its fairly easy but for sure go with the oem gaskets. make sure you get all 5 pieces. each one for the spark plugs and one for the valve cover. and yes that page looks right. i used chiltons for my repair and it gives `you the specific tourqes you need for the vavle cover.

plus if you have got oil in the spark plug wells than i would suggest also replacing both your spark plugs and the wires.

good luck with the repair tho. and feel free to pm me or hit me up on my messenger if you need any help.

oh yea don't break the positive pressure line on the engine like i did.
