Take out the screws (5) and pull off the panel gently. There are clips behind the door panel, so you have to get them all off before the panel comes off.

so how did you actually get the window crank off? with the moon clip remover? is there a clip behind the panel that needs to be removed? I want to take my windows out so I can tint them correctly and my only problem is the crank.

You could have done it with a rag. Cheapest way I know of.

there is no 'clip' behind my window crank anywhere that i can see to pop off. either behind the panel or right next to the plastic window crank. i have the clip removal tool, no luck finding any clips. any ideas? soon im going to break it off and just buy a new one!

push on the panel a little bit it should be there. i think it fits tightly against the crank

lol sunfire doors what a pain in the but. Um the easiest way i did was push on the pannel bend the tip of the knife and have ur window crank handle pointing down then just stick the knife up there and poof it comes out.. You cant see the clip but its there took me 1 hour the frist time I did it.. good luck:)

Take the clip tool and push it behind the crank.Make sure your behind the crank and not the washer that is behind the crank.Hold the tool still and push inward, turn the crank, you will feel it go into the groove that the clip is in.Make sure you hold your finger over the opposite end of the crank in case the clip flies out.Now pull and wiggle the handle towards yourself and poof it will come off. There is no need for rags, knifes, etc.

unless you dont have a clip tool like some of us do, then it's as simple as using a rag. the idea is to get the job done and not have to buy all the tools for just one use.

I lost my removal tool, so today I did it with a flathead screwdriver and a very small allen wrench.

Cmon a free rag, knife, or screwdriver you already have wont kill you either
remember, some of the people on here dont even know what a clip remover or a panel remover look like or do. They are just looking for a way to get a job done with what they have on hand. don't tell me you've never improvised a repair.

Many times, then I get the tool to make it less of a headache. Then you always have it.

So theoretically all i have to do is buy the tool, put it behind the crank, turn the handle until it clicks into place and then wiggle some more and it shsould come off?? Is that right??
