That's cool. We do a lot of tranny/engine swapping here in japan, especially skylines and silvias. The conversions are fairly easy to do. I guess a good thing about being in japan is you can go to the nearest junkyard and find engines, transmission, turbo's easily, for dirt cheap. It's a fun hobby I like to do on the weekends.

Yeah, it is a bit harder to find all the bits you need here in NZ though. Luckey Holdens used them.

Ben did you put a 25T box in his car or one out of the 3litre VL ? $1,500 is a scorcher of a deal for a 25T box fitted!

Yeah. I didnt beleive that till I actually read some dudes' websites. He traded Budwisers for engines and such, LOL! The other dude got 2 HKS GT2530 turbines for free!! from a totalled GT-R 33. Sweet.

BTW, anyone knows what type of cars are these:

I cant recognize them, any help would be great. The 2nd looks like a S13 K, but not sure about it. I have no clue about the first one.

Well considering his car is a R32 GTS25 non turbo a 25T gearbox would be a bit over kill :D
It's the holden box.

 Those cars are looking pretty awesome!

wicked, but i dont like the idea of anything holden in my car. i have a gts-t r32 auto which im thinking of converting to manual esp. if its only 1500. whereabouts do you guys do this from, is it available in auckland? and will it be a 'true' skyline manual or do they use parts from other cars :/

We are in Christchurch.

Nissan original 5 Speed Box's can be found, but will cost more if they can be found at all. I did happen to get a "brand new" one a while ago. Never been used.

Saying that they are "holden" boxes though, they are actually a "Nissan" part in a Holden. So there is nothing Holden about them really.

So does the 25T Box bolt straight up to the R32 GTS-T? with the use of the std. R32T Manual Tail Shaft?

My box is getting a little rattly and need to do a clutch very soon...

Oh yer any one read the new write up on Autospeed about the new turbo technology's being released?

i.e electic assisted turbo's (using magnets, to reduce lag & replacing your alternator), air bearing turbo's (no oil required, less drag etc..) 121,500+ rpm turbo's.. (limitation of the testing machinery).
All this packaged in to a VNT turbo .. = 0 lag excellent reliability out lasting the motor max power..:)

I am sure the 25T box will bolt up to the GTS-T, but they are alot more expensive..

Not sure about the tail shaft but it is not very expensive to have the tail shaft modified.

That turbo sounds pretty amazing, about time they made some new technology to do with them.
