Please give me your opinions on these taillight choices...

V-Tech Circles-
http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/87966v-tech.JPG

Blackout whole taillights- Use window tinting spray.

Only paint the center piece- possibly fill the keyhole while I do that.

I'm not sure if the V-Tech includes the middle piece, so I may have to paint the middle also if I get the V-Tech.

My car is black.
This is how it is now...

whatever that first pic with the covers is... I would go with that. I think it looks sharp. Nice and clean and custom. Probably won't be too incredibly expensive. and it's nicer than altezza's because everyone has them. Good luck on your choice. you have my 2 cents

That what I am leaning twords. And I am definitely not getting altezza's. The V-Techs are just covers, they are $50, then I have to get them painted.

I like the circles as well. I thought eclipse's came with a center piece that said ECLIPSE stock? Shows you how much I know about them.

They do, I took them off.
Or if your thinking about the other picture, the covers are only for the 2 sides. So you have to paint the middle. That is why the eclipse is still there, probally taped it off.

I liked the VTECH circles on THAT car... Not sure how it would look on a car of any other color..Think it might looks kinda tacky on a different color car... Probably looks great at night though....

I like the smoked or carbon fiber Altezzas on Black cars...

The middle section painted the color of the car looks damn cool on the silver ones..

You said you have to paint the VTECH circles.... What color does it come before its painted? and what website did you find them on?

It is flat black before, I want it to match my car's color. There are not many places that carry them, i think spiderautomotive.com is one.

IMO the V-techs look good on your car.

instead of getting circles on them why don't you do something orginal.......put mitsibishi symbols in place of the circles...how bout that idea???

ashah000

That would be interesting to see... just not on my car :p

The V-Techs are the way to go. I'm not sure how they would look on any other color but they look damn good on black. Painting the center piece to match your body is a must.

Glad to see something different. I'm so sick of seeing altezzas(especially the ones offered for 2G eclipses, it's time some new ideas are brought out.

I got the v-techs and then I had them painted along with the centerpiece.

Before I put the covers on...

Ok now I need some opinions on what to do with the reverse lights...
Keep the blue
Make the lights the way there were before (clear)

I don't think blue and red go well together. I'd go back to clear/white. The blue DOES look good, but I don't prefer it on the back with the red tail bulbs.

Smoke everything in the rear. A friend of mine has a 98 eclipse show car. He had his tail lights smoked (painted) and it looks very sharp.

thats what i did with mine... just take some glossy black paint and lightly coat them... they will still work but they will be tinted! it doesnt look bad either!

Does anyone know how to take your stock lens and make them clear? I know this can be done b/c Ive heard of it, I just don't know how to do it...

if your talking about the lens itself I don't think you can, most plastics are mixed with a color additive, (I work for rubbermaid as a mold tech) so I doubt you'd hve luck removing the color, its melted in.
if your talking about the whole asembly then yes, you can get them off ebay for cheap. you could take the lens from that and put it on your stockers but, I don't see why when you can buy the whole thing for cheap. anyone know if they sell just the lens? for all I know it might look better than the kit :2cents:

changes you can do to lighting are the sidemarkers [new ones, all to white], taking the amber lens out the headlight assembly [see my write-up in the FAQ section of the 'read this BEFORE you ask a question' thread.

the reverse lights can be changed by changing the bulb to a HID sim bulb.

which stock lens are you talking about?

The taillights? I think he wants them to be totally clear.

be carefull at least in the state of PA. any obstruction to the tailights automatically means that if you get rearended you are responsible. as opposed the the factory look the responsibility would lie with the other person

Clear. Can't say I like the taillight covers. They look fine stock with the painted center peice, that's how my rear looks too.

*edit, just realized there was a page 2! My bad.
