When it comes to sport bikes, the major limiting factor is the rider.
I have a 2001 GSXR 1000 with minimal mods, and I can consistantly run high 10's in the quarter mile. On the same track, there are guys on Hyabusas and ZX-12's that cant do any better than mid 11's. The big bore bikes should do better, but the riders cant make them run.

Well the 2004 line just hit and there are some very potent bikes out now. I would have to say that busas are NO longer king of the road. The new ZX10r and the new R1 are really close in comparison. Quarter times....
ZX10r - 9.92
R1 - 9.93
As far as 0-60 im not sure, havent seen anything about that.

0-60 are too short, most of them are 3 sec ish. All depends on rider.
its insignificant measurement in my opinion.

all the top companys have pus a limit on top speed and even though the zx10 gsxr 10000 r 1 are fast the zx12 is the only one that they took to the limit at 187 mph and the older busas would go around 198 or even 200+ and old i mean 2000 2001 2002but they do not handel good

1999 and 2000 are the unrestricted busas. But what you failed to mention is how easy it is to get rid of this limiter.

if your looking for a strictly drag bike, or a straightline bike then in my opinion the busa is the best way to go (99&00) they are the most stable of anything being made currently. i've had mine up to 198 (speedo corrected) and i never felt like i was in danger at any point. if your looking for a road race bike or something on that order then the busa is not the bike for you. but as far as the 1/4 goes, if you learn how to ride it correctly and master launching/shifting it, it cant be beat.

OK EG and Black I have to a few things Number one the ZX10 would not test against the busa it tested on other 1 liters so before KAW can boost to being the fastest please test against the fastest (all around) I agree 0-60 the ZX10 is quicker then the BUSA but a liter motor in the 600 frame is a hell sight lighter. As for the new BUSA not being fast I disagree I am riding a 2004 that is very fast (mod to take rev limiter away work wonders. I have a HD a Buell and a BUSA so I can kick back, ride the black hills dragging some knee. or ride as fast as I want and have the best of all worlds. By the way for under 10 grand the Busa is a hell of a buy.
