Exhaust Leak?

With my head under the hood and the engine running I hear a slight "ticking" noise on the driver side above the exhaust manifold. When I got under the car yesterday I heard the same thing next to the transmission? I think it is a leak, however if anyone has heard this before, can you confirm this "ticking" sound. Also, it does get a lot louder while accelerating!?! Thanks in advance.

Usually exhaust leaks make a popping sound when decelerating.

If you want to be 100% sure it's an exhaust leak, take braided or rubber hose, a few feet long. With one end up to your ear, use the other end and move it around the areas you think are leaking. You will hear the ticking thought the hose in your ear.

Yes, this is true, I was born at night... Not LAST NIGHT however. I do like the idea of the hose though. Thanks.
