My dome light will come on while driving periodically. I have to push the overide button. Anybody have any ideas.? @003 Siverado.

Try checking the position of the dimmer wheel on the dash and roll it a few times. It just may be right at the position where the wheel activates the dome light and may need to be backed off from full bright(dash lights) to clear the problem.

Or, the dimmer wheel may already rotated fully to where the dome light is on all the time, and a loose or faulty bulb may be turning on only when you hit a bump or conditions are just right. Again, I would suggest checking the dimmer wheel as well as the actual bulb itself.

Good luck.

Good luck. Its not the dimmer switch or the bulb. Sometimes when I get in the truck and close the door the light will not fade out unless I open and close the door a few times, or push the overide button. Any Ideas? Thanks, JL

Check the plunger in the door opening that is designed to shut the light off when the door is closed. I had one on another vehicle that malfunctioned just enough to do what you are describing and eventually ran the battery down.

Hope this helps.
