Merc makes it a 69er

Mercedes has revealed that it is to build a new luxury saloon with hyper-car performance. As the power struggle bettween AMG and the German maker's other affiliated tuner, Brabus intensifies, the former is working on a new flagship, the S69 AMG.
Producing in excess of 675 bhp, the model is set to be the wildest S-class yet, with a larger capacity version of the 6.0 V12 bi-turbo from the S65. The SL and CL will follow.

I know MB already has the SL65 & CL65 coming to the US. This is the first I've ever heard of an S69 though. Are next years SL's and CL's going to be 69's too? Is the S69 going to be released in the US?

This information has come about from Britain, and it is mre than likley that any engine that the S Class recives will also find its way into the CL and SL. Although the model will be launched in the US and UK eventually, it is sure to be gracing the surface of the autobahn long before we get it.
The new E class derived CLS65 AMG coupe/saloon has been caught under testing this week, but there is no word or the 6.9 V12 making it into the CLS as yet, or the E class for that matter. Another forthcoming model that could possibly recieve this new V12 is the R Class. The engine line-up so far includes the 320 CDi, 350 V6, 400 V8 CDi, 500 V8, and the AMG 55 V8, so it looks as if AMG could put the 65 and 69 into that model too.
