Check Engine light just came on. (Not Blinking but solid light)
Two weeks ago passed CA smog and OBDII tests.
Checked gas cap. If this is the fault Chrysler says three engine cycles to turn off light. NO DICE....
Engine has no change in sound, have noticed no changes in power, performance, or handling.
Ran the ACC-ON, ACC-ON, ACC-ON to initiate code check. Ran it twice...
Results
12, 17, 32, 31, 55.... That seems like alot of failures fast.
Going to try the remove negative lead for 15 seconds trick in the morning...any other possible suggestions for such a strange behavior?
Thanks

After removing the cable the engine light went off (for about 48 hours).
The only codes that come back are
12 Battery disconnect recently
17 Bad thermostat/coolant sensor?
32 Bad or dirty EGR Valve?
55 End codes
The car now has a power loss/engine stops running when RPM drops below 1.0. Is the a response to the EGR? As I am no mechanic I am not sure. However I would like to have enough info not to get ripped off at a local shop. The only shop I have contacted so far said it was a 6 or 7 hour job. Does this sound reasonable?
Any suggestions would be great....Thanks

Change the EGR and clean up the plenum and egr hole.
easy fix. Ignore the thermostat code, unless you're overheating. It may go away anyway. you can do it yourself in 30 minutes.
