i have no idea whats wrong with my car i have a 1989 dodge daytona shelby and im a newb with this stuff. if someone could help me i would really appreciate it. the engine runs pretty good until it completely warms up then the service engine light comes on and when i stop and start to go the car starts jittering really hard. ive brought it to a few mechanics and they all thought it was the map sencor i must have got it changed over 5 times and either they dont install it right or it just isnt the problem. if i turn the ignition off then back on really quick the service light doesnt come on for about another 5 minutes and the car is fine again until then im thinking its some kind of coputer because my digital speedometer goes out of wack sometimes telling me im going 110 when im really goin about 50 please someone help me

We have an '88 Grand Voyager 3.0L V6 that does the same thing, but with no "check engine" light. I'm not sure which engine your car has, but our mechanic did suspect the map sensor, too. We hooked it up to a scanner and found that the sensor was working fine. Next, we are going to try new injectors, which should solve our problem. I don't know when it's going to happen, but if we do replace them, I'll post the results. Let me know if you fix your problem.

Throttle position sensor. EGR Valve. PCV Valve.

Fixed my 3.0 from this disease.

did it feel like it was spitting gas all over the place like really strong studders? if so how expensive is that stuff?

The short answer is yes.

TPS EGR and PCV are all cheap. (all less than $100 total)

I don't know about spitting gas all over the place, but it used to stutter to the point that it sounded like it was backfiring through the air intake and would fall flat on it's face when you hit the gas.

I think The throttle position sensor is your main problem. Don't fret, it's cheap and takes about 10 minutes to change.
