Dont mind the black marks on the hood. Thats just where it cracked  I gotta sand it down a little more, then get some new putty (That WONT crack ). I'm gonna look for some Tamiya putty tommorow, this Squadron White stuff sucks for big areas. Its awesome for filling in door handles, mirror holes, etc though. SO, lemme know what you think! Feedback is vital :iceslolan

No particular reason for the wide-body, I've just been seeing all these Wide-Body Celicas, S2000s, 350Z's, etc...and I wanted to do something different, and I've yet to see a wide-body muscle car, so I figured I'd give it a whirl.

Its an odd concept, but then again I'm kinda :screwy: to begin with :lol2:

Hopefully I'll have more progress tommorow, unless I cant find the right putty :( I checked my LHS' and they didnt have anything, so looks like tommorow I'm gonna take a 30-45 minute drive to find some :lol2:

Thanks for the compliments too. Thats the best reason to continue modeling :iceslolan

Ahhhh, thank you very much! I'll pick some of that up tommorow and give it a whirl. Do you know about how long it takes to dry? And how is it for sandability (Is that even a word? haha)?

Thanks!

DONT USE BONDO SPOT GLAZING PUTTY!!! I have used the stuff on real cars, and its only made for filling small tiny holes in the body filler. It is not meant for big jobs. If you think the squadron white putty is bad for big jobs, try this stuff, its horrible for big jobs.

DO NOT USE BONDO SPOT GLAZING PUTTY!!! IT IS INTENDED FOR TINY HOLES!!!

Do I make my self clear?

Try some Evercoat Eurosoft, I hear that stuff is really good. OR some milliput epoxy putty.

:lol2: Well, I couldnt find any Milliput or anything, so I went to my friend (works at an automotive store) and asked him what i should use, so I got a big tub of something or other heh, it was on clearance for $6.50 too so if it doesnt work, I'm not out much. More progress soon!

Probably an automotive body filler.

Make sure you fill those huge guards to maximum capacity with some seriously meaty racing rims, say off a JGTC skyline? Gotta make the engine bay look insane too, mate. Can't wait to see it finished.

As for the wheels, definatly gonna try to find some huge ones to throw on there, but dont know which kind yet.

Under the hood, I was gonna make it a curbside, but I'm really getting into this project, so I'll probably go all out. I might, in order to keep it "modern", drop in a motor from one of my newer mustang Cobras (Or maybe the super stallion?) Not sure yet though.

Thanks guys. I'm not making much progress yet (Spring is here! woooo, my car misses spring :lol2:) but the hood is almost done, I got this new body filling stuff, and it is hard as a ROCK, holy crap no way that this stuff will crack haha, takes me all day to sand but it works good!

Lemme know what you think!
Obviously lots more work, I need to use the Squadron putty to touch up some small holes and such, then try to create a front and rear bumper. The side skirt screwed up because the putty started to dry before I could get it put on :-\ Thats why its all rough and jagged...LOTS more work, but DEFINATLY the most fun model I've ever done.

:feedback: THANKS!

Looking good. I see your using evercoat, from what I hear its good stuff.

Just a thought, You could make the scoop flow back into the rear fender flare. It would look a little like the ABFlug supra, but it would be pretty sweet. Sorry that was kinda hard to understand.

PsychopathicCj
04-06-2004, 11:34 PM
Are you refering to the side-scoops right? Thats a good idea, and I'll definatly try that.

Keep the opinions coming.

It is coming along great IMO, ALOT of sanding left to do though :lol2: When its finished I'm gonna spray it in Tamiya Pearl White, with a Semi-Gloss black blacked-out hood.

:feedback: Thanks
