o2 sensor...help

hi there,i got question about that o2 sensor.
while swapin the 6 bolt engine into my 95 gs-t i was stupid enough to brake one of the cables of the o2 sensor(a black one, they were 4 cables all togethe) right where they are coming out of the sensor body ,so its imposible to be connected together.after starting the engine for a first time everything seems to be fine, the short block and head dont seem to have any problems like knocking and clicking inside the engine, but after a while thats what i assume...
the check engine light is on,u can smell unburned gas in the car while driving, and today when i pushed the gas on 2nd gear it suddenly dropped the RPM's while reached 3200-3300 coasing your hole body leaning toward the steering wheel.like pressing the brake.
after a sec,two the RPM's go back to normal and u can race again.it did it a few times.also the valves(i dont know the name of it)where u connect all your vacum hoses, behind the intake, are making weird noises like clicking so fast sometimes and then they go back to normal too.the idle of the car is going up and down from 1000 to 1600 RPM's.
could all this be just from the broken o2 sensor.what's it for.
thanks for the help in advance and sorry if bad grammer

p.p.also in the morning when the car is cold is having hard time idle,it stols off if u dont press the gas pedal and then after it warms up the idle gets better but up and down between 1000-1600 RPM'S

I don't know the exact problem, but the deal with o2 sensors is this:
The front o2 sensor is used while driving, and if you don't have it, or it's bad--the ECU will revert to a table of fuel values to inject. This is called open-loop mode, and you will get low power and inaccurate air/fuel ratio compared to the sensor. The REAR o2 sensor is just used to verify that the catalytic converter is working, and if you broke that one (I doubt it, you wouldn't mess with it for a 6 bolt install) it wouldn't affect anything, but will trigger a CEL.

Did you try splicing the wires together to put the o2 sensor back together. Also the stalling in the morning thing, I am pretty sure that is a sign of a bad o2 sensor.(In your case no o2) So I am guessing it is the front one.

Then if there is not enough wire, you should go out and buy a new one and connect that one.

You can get the OEM one for 100 shipped.
But the NTK o2 sensors are pretty nice. They go for about 50 shipped.
