I was at a buds house with some buds smoking some bud (just kidding hah hah)....we were in the street playing some basketball and i saw a mid/late 80s/early 90's boxy style camaro (hell maybe it was a transam, i dunno) drive by...it really didnt catch my attention until one of my semi-car-literate friends point out that on the back it said "Turbo Fuel Injection". This came as a suprise to me...I was puzzled! It has two of the generic turn down dual exuast mufflers....sound kinda funky, i dunno...What was this thing? Is "turbo fuel injection" some fancy name for a fuel injection system made by GM, or was this thing really turbo-ed?

could of been a 1989 Turbo Trans Am. They do not say turbo fuel injected on the back of them though, they just say turbo.

I think it was a TPI and your semi-literate friend read it wrong and thought it said Turbo.

no no no no..... none of the TTA had the GTA badges on them anywhere. Yea they where a GTA body but they did not say GTA on them at all. and they are not all that rare.

Oh, my bad, I thought they kept the badging... So what do they say on the side, just Trans Am? How can you distinguish them from regualr Trans Ams... and I said they are rare cause as far as I know I've never seen one... that is rare enough for me.

Well, to my knowledge I've only seen one, and it said 'Turbo' on it, but it didn't say 'Turbo Fuel Injected'. And it had a pretty big scoop on it, but I doubt it came that way. And yeah, numerically they might not be rare, but I've only seen one.

here is what I could dig up on the TTA. I know its a little more than needed but hey. Anyone that has a four banger in a TTA is nuts. During the winter, my GN sleeps right next to my uncles TTA. They are IMO the most unique f-body ever produced.

ok a turbo car unlike a NA car is not RPM dependent for HP. A turbo car is dependent on boost. For instance, a turbo car will make more HP per cubic inch at 3k rpm than the NA car because of the VE of a turbo car. I don't know how to explain it. The peak HP might be higher but the turbo car will make more HP through the rpm band (assuming it is at max boost.)
I am applying this to the LS1 as compared to the L98 turbo 3.8.
As for your other question, I think the road HP refers to the ammount of HP it takes to maintain that speed
