How do you keep dust away?

I was priming my first serious car model in the shower stall last night, and well, the primed body is far from dust free. I put it in a closed container right after airbrushing it, but there was plenty of time during priming for dust to find its way onto the body (like when refilling the airbrush cup).

It's not bad now, I just sand it out lightly, but I can't paint the final color on if the dust problem is going to be the same (some little specks, a few micro-strands). How does anyone paint an entire body without any blemishes at all?

I have a homemade spray booth that I wipe down with a wet rag prior to painting

I paint in one of my spray booths, my model one in particular. When ever I will be taking a break for a few moments (during refill, or whatever), I set a plastic container over it.

If you want, you could put some masking tape all around the edge of the container. However, it does keep the paint from breathing. When you put a lid over a container it does the same thing, so it doesnt matter much.

I use spraycan

It never take more than 2 minutes for painting process (each coat) then I put it in the microwave.

once dry, I go with an other coat etc..

dust on primer isn't that bad.. just sand it with light sandpaper

Yeah, the dust on the primer isn't a problem but I'll have to be a lot more careful when I do the main coats. A booth sounds like the answer.

I hope it's not coming out of my airbrush. No local store sells Tamiya paint cans.

I hope it's not coming out of my airbrush.

If you think it is. Take the airbrush and tear it down. Then clean all the metal parts with laquer thinner. Then put it back together and spray a couple fl oz. of laquer thinner through it. After that, spray a couple fl oz. of water through it so the laquer doesnt change your paint.

o and if you are having a problem with dust being atracted to it after you paint and it id dry, it is some kind of particles,

i did a lawnmover project, and i painted the hood, and after the clear coat all it did was atract dust, even if you waxxed or washed it, to this day it still atrcts dust.
