automatic switches to manual

2002... the screen flashes between manual/automatic and car switches to manual. Happens occasionally ... once you turn it off then stops doing it. It progressively gets worse until I take it in. Dealership looked at it five times and can't solve it! They've replaced multifunction switch, electronics under shift box and checked all electricals. Just got call to pick it up... if occurs again then they will call regional rep.
anyone else had this problem?
