Question about Alclad Chrome

Has anyone ever used this over any other colour than gloss black and if so what were the results?

I have heard of a few guys doing it over dark blue and got about the same results as black, maybe a slightly different shade.
Light colors will not work however, ALCLAD relies on the dark base to be reflective much like a mirror
