V-6 Eclipse?

Hay can anyone help me, a friend of mine wants a 1997 eclipse with rwd and a V-6.Was this a factory option?I saw one on e-bay was it an option or a custom motor swap?I am also wondiring if a 2jz gt-e tt motor out of a supra wold fit?Or wold that take a hood and motor mounts or what? if this is an option can eneyone tell me were i can find one?

There were only fwd, and awd, and no V-6.
No it wont fit. It would take way too much work. More than just motor mounts etc.

why would you want to swap a diff motor from a diff car? the DSM's motors are great!

As for a V6 RWD Eclipse LMAO. Maby in a custom drag car, but never from factory.

Not to mention that if he got a 97 Mitsubishi Eclipse he would either have the 420A motor or the 4G63 motor. The Eclipse never had a V6 in it untill they came out with the 2000 Eclipse.

even if he is going to do the swap how much would it cost? a shit load of money! y not use that money of the swap to use on the DSM motor? OR just tell ur friend to buy a supra like yours ;)

No it won't fit, and the turbo eclipse engine won't fit in a cheap eclipse either.

After reading this topic...All i can say is ROFLMFAO...this is so hideous. Your buddy should just buy a FWD GST or a AWD GSX..Besides, the 4g63 Engine is a powerhouse...why would you want to swap it. ASHAME ON YOUR FRIEND!

ok I'm probably gonna get bashed to death but I have a 95 gs thats nothing but a shell and has been sitting around since 97. and I gotta be honest I've thought about doing a convertion on it. i.e. welding up a new subframe, roll cage and rearaxle, ripping out the firewall and dropping some huge motor in it. i am a huge dsm fan, but I think it would be pretty damn fun to drop, a dinosaur of a motor in it, hell maybe even run it trans axle under the hatch (no way in hell ) and stomping every thing it lines up against. I know it would be a huge project , and a money pit (IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN) but if I got really bored and really rich :bs: .....I might commit such dsm sacrilige :eek2: Just for the sheer break neck-edness. Why do this to a dsm , because it would be something original, a body style l love , and I Hate hondas to much to wrap a dimond in a turd. I have no clue on how I could make it an awd but that would kickass .
