i'm looking to swap in a 97 or later (OBD2) gsr engine into my 93 integra rs.. will i need to get new engine mounts, or will the engine drop right in? also.. what type of tranny is the 93 rs.. cable or hydro, ALSO (lol) what type of clutch would i have to use.. the 90-93 version or the 94-00 version?:eek7: oh.. on a side note.. if i were replacing my suspension i'd stay with the 93 stuff right? i'd assume so cause suspension is based on the chassis right?

pretty sure that the 93 rs is cable. the motor should drop in to those mounts and you would use your chassis specific parts for suspension. the motor has nothing to do with the rest of the car. don't think you can use your tranny with that motor though. cuz of yours being cable and the motor being for a hydro tranny.

i see.. thanks.. but yeah, i'd for sure be swapping my tranny too... would the hydraulic work in my car tho? what would have to be changed if i were to go hydraulic?

yeah the hydraulic would work in your car. seen many crx's with 2nd gen b16's in them

i couldn't tell you off the top of my head... i'm not very good with stock engines.. i just know how to make em go real fast :p what's it look like? and where would it be located?

it's by the master cylinder but it's smaller and it's for the clutch

your tranny is a cable bro, if your dropping in an obd2 gsr you are going to want a hydro tranny. if your putting in a hydro tranny you are going to need the shift linkage off of a 94+ integra cause it wont bolt up and a new clutch is a must cause your cable clutch wont work

Damn, there's enough bullshit in here to choke a fucking horse.

Your car is cable
the pre 93 tegs are cable
You don't have to switch to hydrualic, there is no reason to, it is a pain in the ass.
You can get cable trannies cheaper
You can get cable trannies with the same gearing as an ITR, and a LSD.
You can use a cable tranny on a OBD II motor.
When buying a new clutch for a cable tranny, get one from a 90-93 B series teg
If for some reason you decide you want to try converting to a hydraulic tranny, and need a new clutch, you would get one for a hydrualic B series tranny.

nothing i said was bullshit bro, i said " if you want a hydrolic " implying that if he wanted a cable he need do nothing..but if he wanted cable he would have to do what i said

I didn't say "tranzlogic, you're full of shit".

It was more a general statement about the atmosphere of none directional information.

If I had to pick a statement to direct it towards, I would choose this one

yeah the hydraulic would work in your car. seen many crx's with 2nd gen b16's in them

No, a hydraulic tranny WON'T work, without a kit to convert the mechanism using the hydraulic system in a compatible way with the cable system such as the HAsport kit. Or a cable tranny mated to a second gen + motor. And most people running second gen plus motors are using cable trannies mated to them.

But I didn't direct it towards anyone person or statement.

so you can put a cable tranny on a motor that had a hydraulic clutch and vise versa?

alright.. so you're saying that if i were to do an engine swap to a b18c, i would have to go find a cable tranny that fit the b18c??? that doesn't make much sense. what i'm going to do would be to swap the engine, replace the tranny and cluch. if i were to do that then would i try and find a cable clutch and mate it to the 97+ b18c?? then find the clutch to go with that??? wtf mate!

lol i was trying to make out your last statment and make sense of it delerious...but its 5am and ive been sitting here at work since 9am yesterady morning lol so im really out of it....ummm if you get a 94+ gsr swap it will be hydro..we all know this, so if you wanted to keep that you would need shift linkage and blah blah blah ok nevermind hows this if you get a good gsr swap it will come with axels, linkage and everything so do that and your gravy...want a cable ? which alot of people prefer for aceleration reasons then just sell your gsr tranny ( im lookin for one ;) which is never hard to do, then buy a cable and a cable clutch, your stock linkage should work fine with a cable b tranny, altho dont hold me to that as im only about 90% sure on that note...but what do i know ive been at work for 21 hrs

Yes

Buy a B18C
buy a cable B series tranny
bolt cable B series tranny to B18C
Buy clutch for cable tranny

alright. fair enough. are there any specific cable trannies that will work better than others? is there a specific engine that came with a cable tranny that i could mate with the b18c? oooh.. or are the ls/gs/rs cable? if they are then i'd get a clutch to fit the ls/rs/gs tranny.. i think i get it
