del sums it up again!

i can't think of anything else I would get for it except suspension mods. Upper/lower tie bars, sways, stiffer motor mounts, etc.. if available. If not available, make shit for it! That's what really sets your car apart.

Maybe some auto-x wheels and tires.

The turbo will be a process. My uncle works for Garrett and can get me the turbo alone at his cost ($230.00) but they dont offer the turbo accessoies for my b20a5. The rest would have to be cutom made. My check isnt that big. Although I would realy like to have one. The suspension could use some work. I would like strut tower bars but cant find them. What else can I do to the motor to get more power?

one thing people always overlook which can be one of the best and potentially least expensive mods you can get is weight reduction. lightweight wheels, cf hood, lightweight brakes and suspension components. or if you're this hardcore, take out your backseats, a/c, sound deadening material (insulation) and/or other unnecessary items if you're all about speed. just a thought but you'd be surprised with what power you do have can do with a lighter car :D

From the pic in your gallery it dosent look to have a body kit on it. What kit do you have for it?

What about some internal work, maby a resleev, pistons, connecting rods, port and polish, bore out the TB, EGR block off, Fuel pressure regulater.

What about a 90-91 Rear end conversion. Or some seats? Steeringwheel? Guages? Custom short shifter? Tie bars, sway bars? Billow ball mounts?

There is so much that you can do. But it depends on what you want.

Im about speed but this is my daily driver. I want it to look nice, have speed and sound good. If I replace the factory insulation with dynamat would that cut some weight? I could lose the back seat and do something crazy with my amps and caps. I could also get some lighter front seats. What would a light wheel aprox. weight in a 17? Im not sure what mine weight but am sure they are lighter than my stock. Im going to the import junk yard today for the 90-91 rear end conversion. I went yesterday localy and found one 90 with the rear end smashed. I will be doing the short shifter myself next week. The Internal work needs to be done. I will probably spend some money on that next. I didnt realize I had a pic in the gallery. I have the Demon body kit. My pictures need to be updated.

I would do some maintenance if you haven't already. And then save up the money for a turbo. If you can't wait, go for the CF Hood. Typically weight reduction is minimal on a timeslip until you get bigger hp numbers.

I can get the turbo itself and have the money for it. Do you have any idea where to get all of the piping, headers, and the rest of the accessories made for my vehicle?

I would think it'd be opposite, in that weight reduction first would be more useful for underpowered cars. Of course you are going to get more power doing big mods like a turbo first, but if you have limited cash, then weight reduction is the way to go.

My car feels a hell of a lot different with 50 lbs of luggage in the rear seats than it does completely unloaded. Same with a passenger.

There are also other factors to consider with weight reduction aside from power. One important one nowdays is fuel economy, which leads to bigger savings in the long run, and more money to put into other parts of your car.

Hmm, you're right. I thought about it again using numbers.

Compiling a turbo kit is a bitch. Finding the turbo itself, intercoolers, manifold, and stuff like that is easy. But the hard part comes from pipes and lines. I was trying to compile my own custom turbo setup, and thought about how downpipe lengths won't fit with different turbos. I'm afraid that custom piping might be necessary.

Custom turbo kits require alot of expertise, but in the end you get the parts you want at a cheaper price. You do learn from buying a turbo kit and then upgrading it down the road, so...

What kind of turbo is your uncle getting you?

He quoted me a price for a T3 so far. What turbo would you suggest that Garrett makes. Im really going to have to look deep into this. Im not sure if any shops around here (Iowa/Illinois border) are capable of doing a job like this. I dont know enough about turbos to attempt it myself.

DEFINITELY the T3/T04E hybrid. Few people run straight T3's anymore.

Now all I have to do is find a shop to do it.

The GT28RS is a pretty hot part right now. Commonly referred to as the "disco potato".

The Garrett GT28RS turbocharger features a Garrett GT ball bearing watercooled cartridge. The compressor stage utilizes a compressor wheel with a 1.86” inducer and 2.37” exducer (62 trim), with a .60 A/R compressor housing. The turbine stage utilizes a turbine wheel with a 2.12” inducer and 1.85” exducer (76 trim) with a .86 A/R, integral wastegated housing. An optional .64 A/R wastegated housing is also available.

Supports up to 320-hp at the flywheel, for 1.8 through 2.7L displacement.

Garrett GT Technology turbo’s are direct fit with GT compressor and turbine wheels.
Aerodynamic improvements provide a dramatic reduction of turbo lag and increased operating efficiency.

It's pretty pricey though.

The turbo will have to wait. I got a good deal on hydros. I would have went with air but couldnt pass up the deal. I got 1 Showtime pump, 2 dumps, and 3 Deep cycle batteries for $150.00 (all new) from my best friend. I just need a few things to complete the setup. I guess I am going with looks since the hydro setup will add weight. He originaly bought a two pump set up for his Monte but he sold it and devided the set with me. This dude ranks # 1 in friendship.
