OK, I'm ordering a D16Z6 that some guy has who says it overheated. He said that afterwards, it would turn over, but it wouldn't ever start back up. He said the head doesn't appear to be warped, and that the block looks alright. Here is my first question. Could I put the intake manifold and throttle body on my D15B1? If I can, all I should need would be the wiring harness and the ecu right? Along with the injectors and fuel rail.

Now then, my plan with the D16Z6 is to put it on an engine stand, and rebuild the whole thing. So, is the engine rebuildable, since it overheated?

the intake manifold will fit. since the Throttle body goes on the intake manifold it will also fit. all you need to do is convert you dx harness to MPFI, and use the 88-91 civic/crx ecu (pm6) and a 88-91 civic/crx si distirbutor and your set up with multipoint fuel injection.

You could always take the vtec head on you d15 block and make a mini me. And convert to obd1 and use the fuel rail, injectors and dizzy with the d16z6 head.

But otherwise gta is tottally right on that one.

If it is the one on e-bay that you got it looks like it may have BBQ'd the insides. It is really burnt looking. You may have problems later with fatigue (sp) from the aluminum over heating. But if it is not damaged looks great. Same comments as the two above.

Doesnt "appear" to be warped doesnt mean shit, anything over .002", it needs to be machined. Good luck though, i hope you didnt get ripped off

Well, it's got some stuff on it that I could use, regardless if it is fried or not. So I figure, $61.00 for the whole motor, hell, why not. But thanks for the comments and crits.

if ur going to use the pm6 ecu, then ur gonna have to slap the pm6 injectors into that z6 mani. and wire urself up an injector resistor box.

I also just got the Z6. I have it on an engine stand now being built up. Correct me if i'm wrong, but I think you may also have to replace the exhaust header. The 92-95 header contains a spot for a sensor of some sort.
