Been working on the Bird for over a year now, and it is almost done. It is a 93 Thunderbird that I bought new with a 5.0 and AOD. I got it because it has enough room to be comfortable, and still look good, while having great insurance rates. Well, it has now become my week end play toy, so decided to step up the power a little.

Here is the engine in it now.

The AOD is a custom built one from Lentech. It is built to handle over 700 HP with no problem.

The rear subframe has been reinforced, and the rear center section will have a custom reinforcement girdle installed. (Under construction now) Using custom axles from Raxles, rated at 500+ RWHP.

This Summer it will be used as a week end play car only. Next Winter it will get a full cage installed, and a few other items to help it put the power to the ground.

The fuel cell install turned out nice.

How much did that cost?

I put about $10,000 into it so far. Have another $3,000 to go before it is done. I was going to get a 04 Cobra, but decided to save about $30,000 and build a unique car instead.
