alright guys,
i finally installed my headers (they're not DC Sports, they're generic stainless steel ones [shhhh]), it only took me about 3 days since i ran into a shitload of bad bolts, worn bolts. anyways....when i installed it, i also replaced my power steering belt...when i turned on the car, my p/s fluid over flowed, and the pump moans, and even more so when i turn the wheels.
i took it to the dealership, they want to charge me $1009 for a new rack and pinion, and $504 for a new pump, labor included in the charges. i told them no, and later its going to pep boys for a p/s fluid flush, hoping the problem is just contaminated fluid and air bubbles.
if that doesn't work...i'll end up driving around with a faulty p/s system for a while, because not even with my credit card can i cover the cost of the dealership. it turns out the dealership isn't overcharging (well...not a lot anyways), its that the parts are expensive as hell.
i remember i replaced the rack and pinion on my old ford aerostar, cost me $100 for the part, for my 97 lude its between $415-$700
i tried bleeding the system, moving the wheel from side to side, that helped some, but didn't solve the problem.
