ok you guys i have been told i can put the vr-4 motor and tranny in my plain gt but that i would have to purchase a block off the make it only fwd. i have also been told this will burn up the viscous clutch in it. my question is, is this possible can i block it off and if hte clutch burns up will this just make the rear wheel section not work or will the tranny be useless after this happens....... if i cant do this i may have a vr-4 tranny for sale in order to buy a sl...... ok one more thing will the vr-4 motor bolt up to a sohc tranny ive been told the blocks are the same and only the heads are different. if you ahve any info i would greatly appreciate it.

You're gonna need more parts than just the motor and tranny. To quote SilverStealth from a prior post:
"Hey, SpeedFreakSteve on 3si.org http://www.3si.org/forum/showthread.php?t=198122 is swapping his SOHC for a TT, plus he's changing over to AWD. He's documenting the whole thing, he'd be a good guy to talk to."

Also, I found a TT conversion bible on 3si.org

hopefully these will steer you in the right direction.

I dont know the spacifics, of the swap. But if you want to use the vr4 trans pull the VCU out and have it welded so it wont burn up.
