I just got a 1968 302ci mustang. It is in pretty good shape and well kept.
The only thing i need to do is a conversion of the brakes from manual to something better not sure what yet. Also regarding the drop in tank if I place a firewall in would that possibly help me and the other passengers if get in accident...I won't ruin this baby but just in case.. :evillol:
Thanks I would Appreciate your guys' feed back.

so you want power brakes... what do you need to know?
also, what do you mean "drop in tank"? do you mean the gas tank? if so there are ways of preventing a lean condition.

Hehe..for the brakes I want something that i don't have to stand up to stop the car. Basically i wanna know how do i make the conversion from the manual to the auto brakes and where i could get some good auto brakes. Also I mean the the drop gas tank your right. So there are someways of preventing a lean condition?

yea those tanks can* leak in a rear end collision. Some people put in racing cells, others put armor behind the rear seat, or do both. Some people dont bother at all. Its cheap life insurance imo. I made my own panel to go back there. I havent converted from manual to power brakes but I think just about all Mustang specility places sell them. like mustangs unlimited, or NPD etc. etc.

If you have the money right now, I say its a great investment to go ahead and do it.

woa, sorry i forgot about this.
for the power brakes (say power; if you say auto then the self proclamed car gods (read: assholes) will never let it go) there are lots of ways to do it, you don't actually need to buy everything new, a lot of good cars have them from the junkyard. do you have drums or discs or a mix?
for a little peice of mind, you know that fiberboard separator that separates the the trunk from the rear seats? well what you wanna do is replace that with a 16 gague steal one. in the case of a high speed rear ending that will give you more time to get out before the fire gets to the interior...
on a safty note i would also like to point out that they stock seats are SOOOO bad for safty thats to funny to even laugh at. if you get rear ended at high a speed (read: enough to blow up the tank) you will brake your neak (due to the lack of neck supports; there is none), thus being paralizing and if you do not have the proper fire protection, burn to death. not a nice thought is it? i love the look of the stock seats and wouldn't mind useing them if i was alone, but if i had a passenger and something happened and i lived and they didn't i don't know what i would do. thats something i would take care of first, even fitting a pair of "new" mustang seats is great, and if some right they will look right.
feel free to ask and questions
