What size are front SPEAKERS?

What size are the front speakers in the 3000GT. My passenger front dash speaker has been blown since i got it never got around to replaceing it now iam finally doint it. Can somebody tell me what size. I think it's either a 3.25 or a 4" not for sure. Can somebody help

damn 2.5 icnch speaker. Do they make those? I thought 3.25 was the smallest then come tweeters. Will 3.25 work?

No not the one in the doors. Iam talking about the one in the dash.

Have you ever finished your project ? I have a 95 with the same issue. So any notes would help. It looks like the dash is a pain to remove...

i have a 94 and my front drivers side speaker it totally blown, and the one on the passanger side on the upper dash also has a very loud rattle if i have the balance even, so i keep it towards the drivers side.

Yea, I got a quote for labor only to replace the speakers (i.e. remove and replace dashboard - $130). I am wondering if one can get to a speaker through the top. ( i.e. just to drop some super glue on it , so it does not rattle).

you know the front speakers just pop right off... LOL so if u got that done then u got ripped off. BIG TIME

No I had not done that, nor would I.
On the other hand I did not know you can get to them from the top.
Are you sure you are talking about the 2-1/2" speakers on the dashboard (95 and over model) ?
There is a grill there, and it looked ( I can't look now, I am out of state) like the grill was somewhat under the dash...

yea the grill is part of the speaker. You gotta be carfull get a flathead screwdirver and try to dig under it and it should pop right off.

Hey !!!! You are correct. Took me 2 sec. to remove them. On top of it they have connectors to quick disconnect the speaker.

In general I found that the sepeaker was totaly fine. The plastic bracket that is molded on to the speaker was cracked in a few spots, and thus was vibrating ... A few drops of super glue, and everything is golden.

By the way for those that are looking at replacement, there looked to be enough room (after cutting some plastic) to mount 3.5 speakers, but you would have to find a nice grill to cover up the cut dashboard. (should look fine at the end).

yeah the dash speakers are only factory replaceable $60 a piece...mine are blown too, i'll get around to buying them eventually...although $120 on two of the smallest speakers ever sucks!!
