Tire Wear

I have a 2000 Jetta GLS VR6. I bought it used in Oct. 2002 when it had 43,500 miles on it. It had new Michelin Pilot tires (size p205 55HR16). I now have about 57,000 miles on it and the insides of all four tires are wearing much more quickly than the rest of the tire. The tires are also generating a lot of road noise which surprises me b/c I though Michelins ought to be pretty quiet. I've not rotated as often as I should, only a bout every 6,000 miles or so. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Has the car been wrecked? Get the alignment checked, it's a camber or toe problem.

yes get alignment checked but also get new tires put on first at the same time. the alignment will fix the wear, but you still have worn tires. that won't fix them, just make them start wareing the other way. get new, get aligned, and rotor regularly and have alignment checked each time or everyother time you rotate. just to be sure. if you ever hit a hard bump or pot hole.. doesn't hurt to have it checked. take care.
