5.7 tpi w/ mods, do i need a new e prom?

I have an 88 gta with a 5.7 tpi auto.
I am in the process of adding a complete exhaust(Ravin), with headers(SLP), removing the Smog pump, 58mm accel t/b, and slp cold air intake kit.

Internally, its being bored 30 over, decked, flat top pistons, a roller cam, (not sure of the lift/duration as of now), roller rockers, rotary balanced, complete port/polish, stiffer valve springs installed, and a high vol. oil pump.

Now, my question....
With all this, especially the smog pump removal, do i need a custom made e-prom so i dont have any trouble codes, or idle/running issues?

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!

With the mods that you plan on doing(especially boring the engine 30over), I would have an eprom chip made. Ed Wright does the chips. You will have to fill out a spec sheet for your engine including all spec of your cam, the cubic inches of your motor, etc.

His site is www.fastchip.com

159.00 according to his website. Check it out. I have talked to Ed Wright a few times via email and he seems like a standup guy. He is located in Tulsa OK.

Hope this helps.

Oh, you're in OK...I'm sorry. (j/k!). No, 300 for a custom chip isn't bad. heck, just to get anything done on my car is 450 and that's if I'd ship the computer off....and that's one of the more cost-efficient tuning shops too. Ed will take care of you.

Remember, you have to pay to play. ;)

well even better news! i took the engine in.. turned out one cylinder was filled with water from sitting a while, and when it was turned over, it cracked one head and the block. so now i have a rebuilt stock engine, just with basic bolt ons......
