civic vs. mr2 spyder

i raced a kid the other night in my 98 civic ex and he had a newer mr2 spyder. it was raining out and he was following me, messing around, like speeding up and then acting like he was going to pass me. so i pull over and roll my window down and he asks if i want to see what his car can do, and i say sure. well we line up and he counts down from 3 and we both punch it but i spun my tires and he got a pretty good start. so from the begining i was about a car behind and all the way through third he probably pulled about anouther half a car or so. this was my first real race so it was kind of exciting even though i lost.

sounds like fun!! i raced my integra ls for the first time last weekend. it was exilerating! I'd never raced before, let alone taken my car to 100 in 4th hehehe. It was a '92 prelude S (yea yea the one with 135bhp stock) with i/h/e i was bone stock and lost by literally about 3 feet it was hella fun. the first race is the beginning of an addictive habit haha.

yea it is thx. its my next door neighbors car. it had a 2000 type r (mayb 2001)before that. that was also a sweet car. wont tell you how many times he embarassed the american muscle guys( esp mustangs ) with it. but he decided to see it and get the nsx. its a 95 with only 10,000 orig miles. super clean. his old type r i think had 18,000 miles before he sold it.

no it wasn't a turbo, i know that, but it had an intake. i have an intake and axel back exhaust. it was a lot of fun, i couldn't even sleep afterwards, btw it was at like 12:30 at night.

it is nice to see you had as much fun as me andrea.

Thats tight man, I wouldnt be able to sleep either. I'd have to go find another drag hehehe. What kinda trouble do you guys get in for racing in your area?

sorry about the name andera. um i don't know what would happen if i got caught, i would probably be in as much trouble as any other state. btw i am in ohio. oh and nice car, why don't you lower it alittle more?

Thanks for the compliment, got any pix of yours? mines a 94 LS Its an eibach prokit (1.3" drop imo perfect for daily driving and handles awesome)... that was before they settled in so its' a little lower now. im getting 16" slipstreams today :-d (13 pounds!!) and 45 series yokohamas (parada spec2) so that might make it look a little lower too. im trying to find out in our state, but like in cali i think they permanently impound your car (uh oh).

you'll have to take a pic when you get the new rims. where are you located at? that would suck to have your car impounded. do you have anything else done to your car?

I'm hopin to have the wheels on today (fedex doesnt like to leave shit at the doore though...). I have KYB AGX Adj along with those springs and I'm getting an ITR sway with some strut bars next month. I also have an ebay CAI, prolly get a K&N filter for it soon.

cool dude, i will be getting some picture probably within a week or so when i get to clean it first. i have and ebay cai also, a vibrant axel back exhaust, a ebay short shifter, dropzone coilovers, carbonfiber gauge bezel, carbonfiber H emblems, carbonfiber tail lights (i know no one likes altezzas but i like mine), and i have 2 12 inch kicker comp vr subs, and a directed audio 600d amp. i'll post the pics when i get them.

thats cool, ebay cai is the way to go... ill take a 2hp loss to save 150$ heh. di dyou notice any improvement w/an axel back exhaust?

mjshort18
03-31-2004, 03:14 PM
i wouldn't say much if any. i love the sound of my exhaust, it is not loud and ricy, it is mellow and deep. it may have given me 2 or 3 horses but thats probably it. the reason i didn't get a catback is because i couldn't afford it and i found this one really cheap. (on ebay of course) ebay is the place to get anything you want. lol.

andera
03-31-2004, 03:56 PM
hehe ebay kicks ass. seriously though a catback is pointless unless youre doing headers and a hiflow cat too... wat brand was it? im thinkin about skunk2 full backback soon. i heard a clip and it sounds badass.

thanks for settin me straight. i thought it was a little out of whack losing it forever. wat kinda cash do you have to pay to get it back? that must be hella expensive.

i like your car man, not too fond of black rims though... just my opinion. so tell us the racing story, about your car being impounded.
