Hey guys,
just bought the fujimi WRX HKS TUNED and was wondering if you guys have any suggestions what colour to paint the car. Also are there any things that i should be careful of with fujimi models.
The kit looks like a very simply kit which was a bit of a disapointment but when everything is complete it will still look awesome.
I was also thinking of lowering the car but due to the very simply suspension set-up at both the rear and front of the vehicle i dont think that its possible. Thanks

What colour are the decals?
I would say white colour.

It can be lowered at the front but not very much. The lowering will make a noticeable difference.:) I agree with Steve on the color.

The decals are mainly black so white would be good its just that my last skyline was white with carbon fibre bonnet and i wanted something different for a change. I would like to do a c-f bonnet on this model as well but i think it might be to difficult what with all the air intakes and scoops. Also does anybody know an easy way to cut out the 4 little air vents on the wrx bonnet? They give your mesh for underneath but you gotta cut it out first which is a bitch.( and i dont have one of those drimmel machines either.)

This one?

When I get around to building my GM Impreza kit, I'll probably open those vents by doing the following:
1. Sand the underside of the hood to thin the plastic in those areas. (Keep checking the plastic up to the light to see your progress.)
2. Use a pin vice to drill several "starter" holes in each vent.
3. Use a scriber (I just use the backside of a #11 blade) to connect the starter holes and pop-out the plastic centers.
4. Use my needle files to smooth and taper the edges of the vents to the right size and shape.

Yep, thats the one.
I had a crack at it today and am happy with the results. i decided to cut the entire portion out as one big vent which will anable the mesh to be a bit more visible and to make it look a little more unique.
Thanks heaps

Since you cut out the little cross-beam in the vents, you'll only need to add a similar one back in the other direction to replicate 22B vents (http://www.solace.mh.se/~el302/subaru/22bvents.html), a popular modification. ;)

cool dude, i never thought about doing that but it could look pretty awesome. I could probably get away with using styrene strips, then meshing it underneath.

thanks steve,
Your website is a favorite on my computer and i regularly check it for the updates on your latest project. I wrote you an email not long ago about printing my own decals and what website you got the tuner brand decal designs from?
I was also wondering if you scratch build your sway/strut bars in your engine bays or if they came with the kit?
