Oil Question

I've just begun to change my own oil and i have a couple of questions about it. I have 89 camry L4 wagon, that takes 3.9 liters of oil. My first question is how do i get the .9 liters in the car without overfilling? the second question is, is it bad for my car is if it slightly overfilled (above the high mark, but below the F on the dipstick) I heard the excess oil will go into the crankshaft and cause problems. Should i drain the excess oil, or is it a neglibable amount. i'd say it's 2 mm over the line or so:

Don't worry about a very small amount over the Full point. If it gets alot over the Full point, pull the plug out slightly, not totally out of the drain hole and replace immediately. Then check the oil level after the engine has run for a minute and then sat for a minute on level ground.

You need to convert litres to quarts for USA specifications. Check your owners manual and it will show you the required amount of oil in litres, imperial quarts and quarts. Use the quarts amount of oil for the USA spec car. You live in the hottest part of America so if I were you I would use the highest (heaviest) weight viscosity oil that is appropriate for your heat factor. Some advocate switching viscosities for different temperatures in different seasons and some don't. I had an 87 Camry wagon 4-cyl and I used 20w-50 in the summer (three months) and 10w-40 for the rest of the year. Worked out just fine. Happy motoring! :)

Go with Mobil 1 synthetic 5w-30 or 10w-30 for year around protection and don't worry if its winter or summer.
