Go-cart vs. Car

I know this isn't true, Car vs. Car... I don't know where else to put it... anyway...
People have told me that a Go-cart will have faster acceleration than an autmobile, I've never owned/driven one, so I Don't know. Is this true, and what kind of possibilities are there in building a G0-cart i.e. how quick of one can you make.

The main thing is that a go-car can be really light compared to a full bodied car. It's sort of like comparing a motorcycle to a car, acceleration wise - the power to weight ratio is pretty insane.
Also, a go-cart has an incredibly low center of gravity compared to a car. This makes it corner very quickly. One of the best compliments you can make to a well tuned corner carving car is that it 'Handles like a go-cart'.

A gocart will difinately beat most cars in a race you can get them to be almost equal to an indy car and for drag racing i know people that have gocarts that run 6's. I also know people (not even professionals) that have had gocarts that did 200+ on an oval track.

Yeah, I'd definitely like to see a shot of the radar gun that clocked that or something. I mean, I know some of the racing karts with motorcycle drivelines hit 120 or so, but you couldn't pay me to break 70 in one with such a short wheelbase and touchy steering.

Ive driven a 5 speed go cart that an uncle owns and races here in the "cartodromo". Ive driven a Porshe Rs and Ive driven that shit and the Go-Cart has fucking scary acceleration, I didnt even enjoy it I thought I was going to die the whole time I drove it.
It accelerated in around 4.3 seconds from 0-100 kilometers per hour, that is 0-62 mph. And its not like riding a ferrari modena that accelerates around in that time 4.0-4.3. In the go cart you feel the air, and you feel unprotected plus mid 4s acceleration for 0-62 mph is fucking insane.
I only took it to 110 kilometers per hour around 70 mph, its fucking scary.

The carts that do that speed are more like a louge(however you spell that) board than a gocart youre laying almost completely flat and they have nothing like a dirtbike engine they're like 3 cylinders(not sure if theyre 2 or 4 stroke the guy i know who owned one diddnt say) and they dont use brakes in the turns because they would loose contol and more than likely die, instead they use the choke to engine brake. But they do have that kind of top speed several years ago the fastest gocart lap around a oval track was 3 seconds lower than the fastest indy car lap and the gap has probably been closing since then.
