I have a 1993 GP that has a slight hesitation from a dead stop, occasional difficulty starting, and rough idle 90 000 miles. Runs great on the highway but on exiting idle gets really rough.
I have changed the fuel , oil and air filters and still persits. Thinking it may have something to do with the spark plugs or distributer but not sure. any help would be very appreciated. thx

I have had the same problem with my 93 grand prix. No only have I changed the same thing you have but I have also replaced the fuel pump, water pump, altenator, ICM, TPS, computer, prom, starter and a few more sensors. I did find a small gasket leak around the top of the motor and when I tore that off I found the hose connecting to the pcv valve was deteriorated. Replaced all of that, but even now it still idles like crap. I have reset the idle thru the idle learn link. I have taken it to two mechanics, one an electrical specialist, and neither one of them could pinpoint the problem.Does anyone know if this is this a common problem? If you find an answer, please let me know....this car is driving me insane and to the poor house.

I too have a 93 GP 3.1L V6. My car has been a rough idler for as long as I've had it. I reciently had it in for a Pennzoil 10 minute oil change. I have the air filter and oil filter replaced but the guy told me my oil was like tar. Apparently they preform a reasonibly priced chemical flush. This takes no more then 15 minutes. The car runs like a champ now.
