Wing on a T-Bird

What do yall think of a large racing style wing on a 95 Ford Thunderbird?http://www.tspracing.com/bomzwing/Type_II_Blk_Blk_01BZ_2.jpg This is the wing I am thinking about. It actually works by pushing the rear of the car down on the ground.

I don't want to rice up my T-bird though. I have a ram air hood on my my car and I thought the spoiler would add to the racing effect. I still want my car to be a muscle car at heart, but I think it will look good with these mods.

I would just slap it on for kicks and if you find out you don't like it... oh well. or you could just place it on your car without mounting it and take pictures and post them. I've never seen a t-bird with a wing, and there may be a good reason for that. It's all personal preference.

Thanks I appreciate the help but I the main reason I wanted to know before hand is the money. I can't afford to buy something and not use it. I wouldn't be the first with the wing on a T-bird would I if I were then I would be either setting a new standord or embarassing myself.

I have seen a wing on a t-bird and im my opinion it did not go with it. It was just not a T-bird.

DUDE, no. Why would you wanna put an erector set on your car? You don't drive a Honda, so don't make it look like one. Besides, unless your bird is blown, stroked, and ported, there's no way the wing is beneficial at all. They're made for top end power so you don't hydroplane out of control, off the line you get nothing (not enough wind velocity hitting it yet). Just love the bird for what it is man.

You know these type wings were first put on American drag cars right.

Well what do you guys think about the wing on a 95-2004 mustang.

I've seen these and I would have to say I like them on these.

Does anyone have any pics of a T-bird with a wing like this.

Flewthecoupe I am looking for something that stands out a little better. Those look to stock and don't look like they have a purpose.

It'll sure stand out when someone throws a red checkered table cloth over it and breaks out the picnic basket. The general opinion on big wings on a Tbird, don't do it. Look at some other sights that are dedicated to the MN12 platform, not general forums as this, and see. There is a sig by one user that states, "You laugh because we call it rice. We laugh because you don't."

One thing to be careful of with big wings, it can cause excessive down force on the rear end. Without some down force the back can actual start to lift to a certain extent and lose rear wheel traction. But a huge wing can cause the front to become "light" and you can lose control because you can lose the traction up front as the back is nailed to the ground. A lot of these wings have warnings not to exceed XXmph (usually under 90mph) for this reason.

This is my car the hood is to be painted next week.

What eslse should I do to the car, black racing stripe?, neons?, what else. Please I'm trying not to copy anyone else and I love using my own ideas, but I'm so used to helping my team members with their ricers its kindof implanted in my brain.

Sorry if I squashed your dreams. It is your car and you have to do what you like. I like those hoods just not big goofey wings on a bird. I have seen that type of wing on some Asian cars and have looked nice. But not on the typical "ricer".

This is a little more my speed and if I could find pics of my first '93, I would post them. It had a conservative body kit and wing, looked nice.

My :2cents:. Just do what you want but think about how it will look. Go to www.tccoa.com and browse through the the galleries, forums, and search for wings. You may find some pics that will either reinforce your idea of the wing you are looking at on a bird, or it will turn you towards something more traditional.

why would you ever think of putting a wing like that on your bird i would go smaller and not so ricer like

that saleen spoiler looks okay, but the Xenon or OEM S/C Spoiler look good too.

No, that's not my Bird. Mine is black and has a wing but not that style. I like the style above much better than mine. I'll see if I can find out where the guy got it.
