How's this for home made CF?

Hey guys. Before anyone flames this post, it has no relation to that of Supermod04's. I completely disagree with everything he said. I haven't personally used ANY SAS products, but have heard more than excellent remarks about them and Chris. I have made, using the available background on your Microsoft Equiped pc, there is a background BlackThatch. I copied it two different ways, one with just a 7 looking series of dots above each block, and one with a full series of dots along the block. Many of you may not waste your time trying to distinguish between the two. Others may proclaim it's a waste of time without an ALPS printer, and you may be right. But what I'm trying to acheive here is quality, not perfection. Perfection being SAS, quality being, me being proud of how it looks on my models.

Now, if you want, say, "That'll look like shit!" Fact is, I like them.

So far looks good, have to see it on a model though to get a decent perspective.
I think you've made a decent start.

I think that if it was printed with an alps or equivalent printer it would make a beliveble patern. when it is smaller and not as easy to see what the pattern actually is it might be convincing. the main throw off is that the lines of the pattern run horizontal instead of at an angle like the CF weave does...
Good idea though, i would like to see it attempted. I think it would at least look as good as some of the attempts at painting CF with mesh.
But we should refer to the CF master mind (supermod04) b/c we all know how much he knows about quality CF......hahaha. I just coldn't help myself, sorry.

There are many different weaves it's down to personal taste.
If you like it cool :)

Looks good, would fit perfectly the Skyline GTR 2003!... It's the exact pattern. Just waits for being applied on a real model to see if the scale and rendering is right!

Im not to woried about the pattern as of now. I'm just starting out doing the cf. I just wanted some opinions on it. I'll print some out in a lil while after I change my cartridiges. Glad to see so many good comments on it, and thanks for all of your comments. Hiro, thanks for you pics, I'l try to make a pattern similar to that on my own.

Not Scaled down
http://nurspec.20m.com/images/carbon_fibre_2_extra_big.jpg
I printed it on a Clear Decal sheet from the testors custom decal kit. Unfortunately i needed to scale it down a little more and the paper i used was reallllyy old and wrinkly :gay: <<<j/k!. lol. but yea here is how it came out. Also sprayed a little too much Decal Bonder :banghead:
http://nurspec.20m.com/images/dsc05495.jpg
Since it was on clear paper it was see through so u cud see the paint under it :p , like this. I should've made it a bit smaller though. Its almost the size of SAS which is perfect :)

Now i dont know if my printer is lazer or anything. My knowledge towards computers is really limited :icon16: I just put the quality on Best and print away.

Did anyone used the custom decals from Walmart? I'd like to know, because I've been in every store of Auburn - Seattle area and noone seems to carry CF, and I'm not a internet order guy.
Thanks

Yea man you need to put some decal bonder. They become soo strong its not even funny. But just remember not to put too much because the ink will run. Like it did on mine.
