hi peoples, my gf has a 2002 cavalier and money to spend....and being the caring person that i am...im gonna help her spend it on her car. im a car person indefinatly but i dont know alot about her car. wanting to soup it up right i was recomended to come here...so here i am, first thing shes getting is rims...she wants 17"s but does not want to lower it. so i suggested that she get a bigger side wall on the rims and adjustable shocks for handeling. so...normally ud hav say a 45 sidewall on a 17 but because of the gap in the fender i think she should go with a 50 sidewall but what would yall suggest. we want to get rid of gap and use the adjustables to give it handeling... the second is waht type of muffler would sound good. were shootin for a deeper sound that aint to loud, typically this comes from a chambered muffler but i dont know how that would sound on a 4...any help would be great
thanks

If you actually want a decent suspension your going to have to get coilovers. After a few years the stock springs will start to sag. With coilovers they are adjustable so if you really want to you could leave it at or around stock ride height. For a good strut I would recomend konis, There the best you can buy. If your not going to lower it you could use kyb struts. As far as a mufler goes, if your going to do a turbo, nitrus, supercharger and pretty much any other performance parts you should probably get a full cat back exhaust. Most of them sound really good. Look on highrevmotorsports.com to get some ideas on prices and what looks good to you.

I don't think you can get adjustable shocks for that car anyway, it has struts in the front and rear.

A 205/50R17 would work, but I think a 225/45R17 would be better.
