crazy neon switch idea

ok im new to all this but i just got this insane idea for a switch to turn on and neons or what ever you atach to the 12v power source. ok i doubt this would even work but its a cool james bondish idea. run your lights to the back of your cigarete lighter but dont remove it. take the heating portion of the lighter and spring. so that when you push the lighter into the socket that you just conect the power and with the spring mechanism gone, you dont have to push it back in every 0 seconds lol, itll just stay in till you pull it out.
its crazy but if you can or have pulled it off or think its even remolty possible lemmie know!

you could do that so easy but you are looking at it all wrung.
here is how I would do it
1) get a simple switch that you push and pull. they have them at auto zone
2) cut out the back of the cigarette lighter so you can mount the switch in there.
3) hollow out the removable part of the cigarette lighter so you could attach the switch nob
then you would have it and it would not just be all rigged up too.
