Depends on how much money you want to spend. Speed costs money. As for me, get the best engine you can reasonably afford.

if you go with the chevelle go 454. if you go nova you will only need the 350 ls6 with the 6 speed.

The only one I wouldn't do would be the 400/6speed. You don't need two overdrives on a 400. Its not a high reving motor. A 383 is a better motor anyway.

Get tired of the Cavalier already?

Stroker, stroker, stroker, stroker, stroker, stroker, stroker

That's my decided setup for the 66; Im not saying you should do what i do, but it's a good setup for less money.

where did you get 383? are you talking about a 383 stroker? as for the chevelle.. unless you're restoring it or something that 454 is just alot of weight you don't need.. a nice 350 with some money put into it is all you would need for the chevelle or the nova. But i guess if you're looking for torque the big block would be the way to go, but i mean its your car do what ever you want.

A friend of mine put a junkyard 1973 Buick 455 into a 4400 pound 1978 Electra and ran 14.30's. Do the math.
Jeff
He's has some head work and carb work done and is running 12.0's.
