Suspension Question

Today I took a good look at my car, it seems to sit about .5 inches lower on the drivers side in the front. Im not sure what's the problem, one friend says my struts may be gone (meaning just compressed). Car doesnt bounce around when I push it down, so Im not too sure. My Driver side fender and left side of my front bumper did get hit in an accident.. could that have any effect? I want to correct the problem, before any serious problems arise. Any help appreciated.

its from you driving it. normally a car sits lower on that side after many years because thats where the weight is most of the time. changing struts might help a slight amount, but generally is the bushings being worn and the springs sagging

So is it worth fixing? or no?

of course it is, if it bothers you. if not, its not a big deal

HMm... so the best options would probably new springs, possibly shocks, and struts?

you only have struts. no shocks. but the springs are saggin, thats probably the culprit

It's almost impossible to get a perfect measurement because the suspension settles when stopping + driver weight. Dont forget the left front is the heaviest corner of the car.

HMm.. well I was looking at my car manual today. Its a coil-over/ shock absorber suspension. Independent of both rear and front. So I guess i really dont have struts? Atleast thats what I got out of it, the earlier 87 and down had struts. What's a good brand of coil-overs that fit the 4G4D?

We have MacPhereson struts. But a good coilover set up you can get is Tein, they make some good shtuff.

Strut is a type of shock absorber or damper, whatever you feel like calling it. "Shocks" mount seperately of springs, "Struts" mount w/ springs which your Honda has.
