Alright, My engine bay needs cleaning. I have never cleaned it before. I was wondering how to clean it? Use degreaser and then spray it off with high pressure? Of course covering the intake. Does anyone know some good brands of cleaner to clean the engine or degreaser that would work well? Any suggestions or Do's and Don'ts would be appreciated. Thanks.

Try this

This link might also help

Scroll down on the left side until you see...."problem or repair"

Then scroll until you find the miscellenous section and look for "I washed the engine on my [DSM] and now it won't run!

Enjoy :)

no just high pressure but controlled pressure, stay away from the valve cover, MAF, and coil

LOL i just take mine to the spray and wash and spray the shit out of it with the degreaser option, then high pressure it off. i cover the intake with saran wrap. that's it, and i've never had any problems... except once i tried to start it with the wrap on the intake and freaked out cuz i thought i got too crazy...

I usually take a trash bag to cover the entire intake system (especially my intake filter) spray some gunk over everything extremly grungy, spray every thing but the coil with low pressure and beef up the pressure around the wheel wells. go to autozone and get some electrical cleaner and spray the wire harness this stuff works great on the sensitive stuff. but for those of you who don't know any better let me be the first to say it. ALWAYS let your engine cool down completly before you spray it with ANYTHING or bad thing will happen. :nono:
