im not too sure what to go for but i only have at this moment $1500 (yeah not alot...) but any turbo enough to boost my SL from 222 hp to atleast 250-260 would do.

Well if you are going for the TT conversion, I would think that the stock vr4 9b's would be the best bet, check out the other thread named "turbos" under this. Also talk to Hotshot or someone who has done it to determine all the parts and work you will need to do.

with 1500 you won't really get anywhere with turbos but why dont you just modify it, you have a decent amount of cash there for non turbo mods to get you somewhere

What mods have you done so far?

I'm with tearzsnow...just mod the car up.If you haven't already, put somenew tires on...some sticky ones.Intake system.Exhaust system.

Tires:Michelin HydroEdge $587.96 for 4 tires.
Intake:DN performance N/A Intake pipe kit and K&N FIPK air filter $374
Exhaust:Borla cat-back exhaust system $749

Is should help some.

That puts you at $1710.96...a little more then you got...but close. Also cheak out this site.http://www.dynamicracing1.com/customer/home.php?cat=48

Good luck with whatever you deside to do.

i would just go with a custom exhaust but to each his own, but if you went custom then you will be well below your spending limit

Get a 3sxperformance.com non-turbo downpipe along with custom exhaust and a testpipe and that will run you around 600-700. Then you can do intake, lighter rims/sticky tires.

Just to give you something to think about. I don't know whether you are aware of the debate concerning underdrive pulleys. I only mention it because it is part of the stage 1 or stage 2 upgrades dynamic racing offers. I personally wouldn't do it, but you should decide for yourself.
If you want to learn more about it, go to www.stealth316.com click on "technical" on the left. Then scroll down, at almost the bottom of the column on the left there are two links titled:
"The Under Drive Pulley Debate (3000GT related) by Kevin Schappell"

and

"Under-drive Pulleys: Dangers! by Steve Dinan"

I would check them out prior to buying an underdrive pulley
