Hi guys,
I am installing a Jdm h22 in my prelude(use to have a f22), can someone tell me the redline on this engine? I am installing a aftermarket tach and need to set it up. Some sites say 7200 rpms and others say 8200 rpms.
Thanx

It depends which H22 u got and where it is from. Most peak out at different RPMs. Not sure if redline is all the same but ill tell u the peak HP RPM on the different h22s
*97+ H22a type s (JDM) peaks at 7200 RPM
*97-98 H22a1 & 99-01 H22a2 peak at 7000 RPM
*97+ H22a non type s (JDM), 94-96 H22a1, and 92-96 H22 (JDM) peak at 6800 RPM

Thanx for the info. The engine is from a 4th gen. prelude from Japan. I need to motify the throttle cable plate because it came out of a RHD car and some other minor things but it should work out.
I will try to post pics on the swap if anyone wants to check it out.

I swapped out an h23 to the jdm h22...the fuel line will most likely need to be replaced because they're not located in the same place.

Hey Shoofisludin,
Can you give me more info on the fuel line replacement, did you make one or purchase one?
Any pics?
Thanx

As he said... the JDM h22 fuel lines come out on the opposite side. He just swapped the fuel rails from his old h23a block. I don't know if the f22a works the same way or not.

Actually aces that sounds like it would've worked but thats not what we did with mine. On mine we just added an extension to the fuel line so that it would reach. It works just fine and no problems so far....but I was strapped for cash in the process of my swap. If you want to do it right just re-do the line instead of ghetto rigging it like i did. another thing with the h23 -> h22 swap, the exhaust is going to have to be connected...the h23 header to exhaust is about 6-8 inches long than the h22 so you'd have to have an extension welded to piece it together. also make sure all your cable are whole and not cut like mine...kuz it's just a pain in the ass. And more than likely you're gonna have a distributor problem. Something w/ internal and external coils...however i could be wrong bekuz i'm not familiar with the f22. I'll see what i can do about some pics to help u out, but i can't make promises
