I finally have my choice for my next car narrowed down, a 1995 Volvo 850 TURBO wagon  We checked it out yesterday and it felt pretty good. The guy selling it put it in the shop this morning to get it checked out etc. We offered to pay for a compression test to be performed (even though the mechanic said it wasn't necessary) but we told our seller why we wanted it done (my car lost it and died). So once we are told the car has a clean bill of health we will be going down to pick it up and work out price details. So I am hoping to get a "all good" phone call tomorrow. I can't wait :D
I have gotten over the initial shock and sadness of Marvin dying on me. I've resurrected the car a few more times than most others would have, and I've had my fun with it. I have lots of pics to remember him by in his prime. It's time to move on to a new (and more mature) project. I probably won't be doing anything with the Volvo for awhile...at least not until it will be garaged. Until someone takes Marvin, the wagon will have to be outside. So with that said, give me some AF luck :D

Thanks guys :D
Yes, Steel, inline 5. Maybe you can get some pics (if the school will allow) of it dismanteled. I'd be interested to see that.
All I need is some good news and we're good to go http://www.katwoman097.com/uploads/smileys/bounce001.gif

Well guys, the mechanic called back, and it wasn;t good news :( The wagon has bad compression. 3 of 5 cylinders are half of what spec should be, and the other 2 aren't even close to the other 3 cylinders. I am so disappointed :( I really liked it ALOT. It would have been silver with 5-star wheels and nice limo tint all around. As sad as I am about this, I am glad we paid to have this test done, and lost $75 instead of $7500. Since my initial post in this thread an issue came up, carfax reported all services done after 50K miles, but there was nothing showing the car was serviced between 0 and 50K miles. We called the seller and asked him to go thru his records and verify if the car had been serviced at all or not. I don;t know if Alex found out any info, but the mechanic called him and faxed him the info on the compression.
Well if anything at least I got to experience driving a turbo and sitting in those lovely seats :) So tonight I am going to pick up the little 200SX from my stepdad and drive it til I get another car. I am keeping my fingers crossed for a good Volvo to pop up but I think I am going to ahve to start looking at Plan B, Nissan Maxima. My parents had Nissans since 1985 and my mom bought her 98 Maxima new 6 years ago, still has it, and it is still going strong. Alex's gramma also has one as well and she loves it to death.
What a way to burst the bubble, but I'd rather find out now than 20,000 miles from now and have 2 dead cars in the garage.
Also someone who was gonna potentially buy Marvin cancelled on me and bought an SRT4 over the weekend......not that I can blame him  And no, I am not getting one, nor am I getting another Neon. One was enough :D

Not a huge Subaru fan, and I only have $8K cash to work with :( But thanks anyway. There's not a whole lot out there with decently low mileage in my range, this sucks :(
