How to buff out glass headlights?

I have a 1987 Honda CRX and the glass headlights are not looking too good. Mostly I want to get rid of the little chips they got from stuff flying up from the road. I've seen several webpages about sanding and buffing out plastic headlights, but I don't know if I can do the same for glass ones. Any ideas?
Thanks

i know the eastwood company sells a glass buffing/polishing kit , if you have chips in the glass i don't know how well it will work out for you

even if you buff the glass on the outside, you might have to take the light apart and clean the inside of the glass, they tend to build up a lot of dirt inside,

NAPA just started carrying something for you ! the rep was in here the other day with it, me and a co-worker tried it out on some intrepid up here with funky ass glass lights and it buffed them up 200% better...i cant remember what it was called, but get ahold of you local napa store and ask what they have or can get overnight or what not and im sure it will be the same stuff !! and yes it will require you taking the light apart IF you have funk on the insides as well ..if you do and you take them apart remember to make a nice bead of clear silicone around the housing when you are done so no moisture ever gets back in
